還來不及等到改款現身，Apple Thunderbolt Display 就先和大家說了再見。今天根據 TechCruch 報導引述蘋果發言人說法指出

We’re discontinuing the Apple Thunderbolt Display. It will be available through Apple.com, Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last. There are a number of great third-party options available for Mac users

我們決定停止生產 Apple Thunderbolt Display，但是它仍然會繼續透過蘋果官網、蘋果直營店，以及授權經銷商等繼續販售直到庫存售罄。現在 Mac 用戶有相當多優異的第三方產品可選擇。

也意味著這在 2011 年六月上市以來的產品，在度過六個年頭後將退出舞台，而這個決定，是要準備在返校季節推新品進攻教育以及商務市場，還是未來要在線上商店開放第三方螢幕的販售，抑或是暫停這系列產品研發及販售，就要看日後蘋果如何調整了。
